General Description of the Organization:
Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population. Since its establishment, Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering programmes spanning sectors, including humanitarian and development programmes, in the Early Recovery, Food Security, Agriculture, Livelihoods, Education, and Protection, in addition to long term impact interventions focusing on the economic empowerment and the local value chains improvements to enable targeted communities to improve their living practices and their sustainable mechanisms. Orange collaborates with variety of national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives to adopt community-based approach that leads to improve the response’s impact to the humanitarian crisis and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.
Job Purpose:
Procurement officer play a key role in assessing suppliers, products, and services, as well as in bargaining for contracts and verifying that authorized purchases are both cost-effective and of excellent quality.
Duties, objectives and competencies:
. Build and nurture connections with vendors and suppliers to foster strong, mutually beneficial partnerships, promoting effective collaboration and trust.
· Estimate and create budgets for procurement, ensuring that financial resources are allocated judiciously and aligned with the organization's objectives.
· Exercise your professional judgment effectively within a fast-paced work environment, consistently making well-informed choices that contribute to the organization's success.
· Conduct thorough assessments of all vendors and suppliers, evaluating factors such as reliability, product quality, and pricing to make informed decisions about potential partnerships.
· Maintain meticulous records of all procurement activities and other essential data, enabling organized and transparent documentation for future reference.
· Engage in skillful negotiations to secure favorable pricing and contractual terms, which can significantly impact the organization's overall procurement costs.
· Develop strategic plans for the procurement of a diverse range of services and supplies, aligning your actions with the organization's goals and requirements.
· Ensure that procured products and supplies consistently meet established quality standards, underscoring the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality goods and services.
· Collaborate effectively with your team members, adapting to changing needs and sharing responsibilities as necessary to achieve collective objectives.
· Continuously manage and refresh a comprehensive list of suppliers, ensuring that the organization has access to a reliable and up-to-date network of partners and resources.
Requirements:
· At least 3 years of relevant work experience in areas such as procurement, office/business administration in NGO or private sectors.
· Strong computer skills in Microsoft packages, especially Excel. · Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload in a in a dynamic work environment.
· A flexible approach to work and willingness to take on extra duties, work additional hours or on weekends as required. · Excellent in English, and Turkish Language is desired.
