About Orange

Orange is an national humanitarian organization committed to supporting vulnerable communities through high-quality humanitarian and development programs. To strengthen its data collection capacity across Syria, Orange is establishing a roster of qualified Data Enumerators who can be mobilized when required to support MEAL-related activities.

Purpose of the Assignment

The selected candidates will join a pool of trained and qualified Data Enumerators who may be contracted on an on-call basis to support assessments, surveys, post-distribution monitoring (PDM), beneficiary verification, needs assessments, monitoring visits, accountability activities, and other data collection assignments as required by Orange programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection activities in accordance with approved methodologies.
  • Administer questionnaires, interviews, surveys, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of collected data.
  • Use digital data collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox, ODK, CommCare, or similar platforms.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and humanitarian principles.
  • Report any challenges, incidents, or protection concerns identified during field activities.
  • Participate in training and briefing sessions before assignments when required.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Higher Institute Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Previous experience in data collection, surveys, assessments, monitoring, or related field activities.
  • Good communication and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with smartphones, tablets, and digital data collection applications.
  • Good knowledge of the local context and communities within the governorate of application.
  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies, or research institutions.
  • Experience using Kobo Toolbox, ODK, CommCare, or similar digital platforms.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles, accountability, and safeguarding standards.


Assignment Duration

This is not a full-time position. Successful candidates will be included in a roster and contacted on an as-needed basis. Assignment duration will vary depending on the scope and requirements of each assessment, survey, monitoring activity, or verification exercise.
