Since its establishment, Orange has partnered directly with affected Syrian populations, delivering programs spanning sectors, including humanitarian and development programs in the Early Recovery and Livelihoods, Food Security and agriculture, Education and Protection, WASH, and Shelter, in addition to long-term impact interventions focusing on the economic empowerment and the local value chains improvements to enable targeted communities to improve their living practices and their sustainable mechanisms. Job Purpose:


The WASH Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure to ensure safe and sustainable access to clean water and sanitation services. This role involves conducting technical assessments, planning and supervising the installation of key infrastructure such as solar-powered water systems, elevated (high) water tanks, and sanitation facilities. The WASH Engineer is also tasked with monitoring and following up on the implementation and functionality of these systems to ensure long-term effectiveness and compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. This position requires strong expertise in civil or environmental engineering, a solid understanding of WASH principles and renewable energy systems, and the ability to work effectively in field-based and humanitarian settings.


Duties, objectives, and competencies: 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare BOQs and technical documents before implementation to ensure feasibility and accuracy of inputs required (in terms of quality and quantities) in coordination with the Projects Manager

• Conducting weekly/Daily visits to WASH & Shelter program sites in coordination with partners and collecting all technical notices about the quality of implementation.

• Prepare Daily and Weekly reports on WASH & Shelter programming progress, documenting any challenges or delays in work plans. 

• Lead the technical needs assessment regarding WASH & Shelter for new projects and monitor market price changes. 

• Ensure the technical quality of program implementation, per project work plans and objectives and in line with international humanitarian (WHO) standards. 

• Assist the M&E team and provide technical support required for monitoring activities related to WASH & Shelter projects with partners.

• Flexibility in schedules and tasks is expected from the employee.

• Other tasks at the request of the line manager

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (civil, architecture,)
  • Very good communication skills 
  • At least 2 year of proven work experience in the same position. 
  • Able to work under pressure.   
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); also, E-learning software is an asset.  
  •  strong skills in time management.
  • Understand the humanitarian/civil society issues.
